The short version

Our apps don’t collect personal data. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking in Table Torch or Backmarker, and we never sell or share information about you. This website counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and shows us only totals. The only personal data we ever hold is what you choose to send us by email.

Who we are

Rocky River Apps is the name under which Brian Fuller, an independent developer in Colorado, USA, publishes apps. “We”, “us” and “our” in this policy mean Brian Fuller, doing business as Rocky River Apps. If you have a question about this policy, email support@rockyriverapps.com.

Table Torch

Table Torch collects no data.

  • No account, no analytics, no ads and no tracking.
  • The tilt-to-dim feature reads your iPhone’s motion sensor on the device. That reading never leaves your iPhone.
  • Your colors, palettes and settings are stored on your iPhone and are never sent to us or anyone else.
  • Table Torch doesn’t ask for access to your contacts, photos, location, camera or microphone.

Backmarker

Backmarker collects no data about you. There is no account and no sign-in, and it contains no ads, analytics or tracking. To show the season, Backmarker talks to a few services. Here is each one, and what it learns.

  • Race data (Apple iCloud / CloudKit). Schedules, results and history download from a public database we run on Apple’s CloudKit. Backmarker only reads from it. Nothing about you is written to it. So that new data arrives promptly, the app registers for silent push notifications through Apple. Apple manages that token, and we can’t use it to identify you. Apple runs CloudKit and may keep its own server logs of these requests under Apple’s privacy policy; those logs aren’t shared with us.
  • Weather (Apple WeatherKit). Forecasts are requested for each circuit’s location, never for yours. Backmarker doesn’t ask for your location.
  • Radio clips (Formula 1). When you play a team-radio clip, it streams directly from Formula 1’s servers. Those servers see an ordinary web request from your device, such as its IP address, under Formula 1’s own privacy policy. Backmarker doesn’t store the clips.
  • Stewards’ documents (FIA). Tapping a document opens fia.com in your browser, under the FIA’s own privacy policy.
  • Ask about the weekend (Apple Intelligence). Questions and answers are processed on your device by Apple Intelligence. They aren’t sent to us.
  • Calendar. If you add sessions to your calendar, Backmarker asks for permission to add events only. It can’t read the events already in your calendar.
  • Alerts. Session reminders are scheduled on your device.
  • Widgets and settings. Your favorite driver and team, spoiler settings and widget data are stored on your device and shared only with Backmarker’s own widgets.

Purchases

Apple handles every App Store purchase. We never see your name, card or Apple Account details. Apple gives us sales reports that don’t identify you.

Crash reports

If you’ve turned on “Share With App Developers” in your device’s Analytics & Improvements settings, Apple may send us crash reports and usage statistics. They don’t identify you, and you can turn this off at any time in Settings.

This website

rockyriverapps.com uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how many people visit and where they come from. It records which pages are viewed, the site that sent you (if any), your country, your browser and device type, and how quickly pages load. It doesn’t use cookies or local storage, doesn’t fingerprint your device and doesn’t follow you to other websites, and we see the results only as totals, never as individual visitors.

The site has no advertising and no cookies of our own. It’s hosted on Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes standard request information, such as your IP address and browser type, and may run a short security check in your browser. Cloudflare handles this data under its own privacy policy.

Email

When you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply. We keep support emails only as long as needed to help you, and we’ll delete them on request.

Children

Our apps and this website aren’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal data from children.

Do Not Track

Our apps don’t track you. This website’s analytics are cookie-free totals that don’t follow you to other websites, so the site behaves the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track signal.

Your rights

Our apps don’t collect personal data, and the website’s analytics are totals that don’t identify anyone, so the only information we could hold about you is email you’ve sent us. You can ask us to show you, correct or delete it by writing to support@rockyriverapps.com. We don’t sell or share personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act or similar laws, and we don’t use it for targeted advertising.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top. If an app ever needs to collect something new, we’ll say so here before that version ships.
